Lerato Mokalapa is the CEO and Co-Founder of eduSYMS, an African EdTech company building integrated digital infrastructure for education institutions and skills-development providers. With backgrounds in Law and Electrical Engineering, she leads strategy, partnerships, fundraising, governance and product vision across a growing multi-market enterprise technology business.

Lerato Mokalapa is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of eduSYMS, an African EdTech company developing enterprise technology for educational institutions and skills-development providers. Growing up in rural South Africa shaped her conviction that quality education should not be limited by geography, infrastructure or connectivity. With a background in Law (LLB) and Electrical Engineering (N6), Lerato combines legal, business and technical leadership across strategy, partnerships, fundraising, governance and product vision. Her entrepreneurial journey has been recognised through programmes including UNDP timbuktoo EdTech, GCIP-SA, Pitch Palabre and Standard Chartered Women in Tech South Africa.

Lerato Mokalapa is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of eduSYMS, an African EdTech company building enterprise technology that enables educational institutions and skills-development providers to digitise learning, administration, compliance, assessments and student management through an integrated platform.

Growing up in a rural South African community, Lerato experienced the educational inequalities created by limited infrastructure, poor connectivity and fragmented administrative systems. Those experiences shaped her commitment to building technology that can serve institutions regardless of geography or resources.

Lerato holds a background in Law (LLB) and Electrical Engineering (N6), combining legal, business and technical perspectives in her leadership of eduSYMS. She drives strategic growth, commercial partnerships, fundraising, governance and product vision. Before eduSYMS, she founded and managed Bright Index Collection, gaining experience in operations, compliance, financial management and client relationships.

Her work and entrepreneurial journey have been recognised through the UNDP timbuktoo EdTech Programme, GCIP-SA, Pitch Palabre and Standard Chartered Women in Tech South Africa Programme. Lerato's long-term vision is to help build Africa's most trusted education technology ecosystem through affordable, accessible and scalable digital infrastructure.
