A Founder with Purpose

Lerato’s journey into education technology began long before the first line of code or the first institutional deployment.

Growing up in a rural community in South Africa, she experienced first-hand how limited infrastructure, poor connectivity and fragmented administrative systems can restrict educational opportunity. Those experiences shaped the problem she would later choose to solve: how to give institutions, regardless of location or resources, access to world-class digital tools.

Today, as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of eduSYMS, Lerato leads the growth of an African enterprise technology company focused on helping educational institutions and skills-development providers digitise the systems behind learning.

Her leadership combines strategy, governance, partnerships, fundraising, operations and product vision with a deep conviction that technology should reduce inequality rather than reinforce it.

A Vision Built for the Continent

To build Africa's most trusted education technology ecosystem, empowering every institution with intelligent, accessible and scalable digital solutions that transform learning and administration across the continent.

For Lerato, digital transformation is not about adding technology for its own sake. It is about redesigning the systems that institutions rely on every day so they can operate with greater clarity, accountability and reach.

That means building for the realities of emerging markets: affordability, scale, compliance, diverse institutional needs and environments where connectivity cannot always be assumed.
